Obituary of Theodore Tausch
Theodore (Ted) Walter Tausch, aged 83, passed away on September 29, 2024, in Rochester, NY, surrounded by those who loved him most. Born on June 18, 1941, Ted was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who left an indelible mark on his community and family.
Ted's career spanned more than a decade in the construction industry, where he contributed to significant projects including the Bay Bridge, Route 104, and Hamlin Beach Parkway. He later joined Delco Products, advancing from line worker to a respected union representative, advocating tirelessly for his colleagues.
A man of many passions, Ted loved food, traveling to diverse destinations, and dedicating himself wholeheartedly to the well-being of his family. His commitment extended beyond personal pursuits; he was a loving and selfless individual who enriched the lives of those around him.
Ted is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Janet Tausch, his sons James Tausch, and husband Kevin (Antinore), Stephen Tausch, and wife Amy (Lechner), Christopher Tausch, and wife Allison (Jaffe); grandchildren Justin and Melissa Tausch; devoted sister Sonia (Soni) Jones, and nieces, nephews, cousins too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilma Makus and Edwin Tausch.
A short service to honor Ted's life will be held Tuesday October 1, at 11 a.m. at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Highway South, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America in Ted's memory, honoring his compassionate spirit.
