I met Ted through his brother Jim in 1962 when I began teaching in Brooklne. We had similar backgrounds and also shared the same age; he was older than me by six months. In the Brookline years we met once a month for bridge with the host sharing the dinner responsibility. We always looked forward to an evening in Salem to share one his fabulous dinners. For many years we traveled together during school vacations. We went to Paris quite often just to spend the week there. Other highpoints were Morrocco and Budapest. I knew all his brothers and sisters and especially his cousin Efroscine who was like a sister to him. He was my last remaining peer and shall miss him very much. Jack Schwarz
