Theoharis Panagiotopoulos Obituary
Theoharis Panagiotopoulos, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Spring Hill, Florida on November 9, 2025. From his earliest days in Euboea, Greece, Theos lived with drive and humor that turned everyday moments into bright stories. His hardworking, resilient, and charismatic spirit carried him through eight meaningful decades. We celebrate the beautiful life he shaped with energy and joy.
Gatherings were his stage - lively, dapper when he wanted to be, and always ready to enjoy life. He loved nothing more than being surrounded by family, friends, music, and laughter. From backyards filled with the sounds of Greek music and New Year celebrations to the aroma of lamb roasting, he brought laughter and energy to every moment â€" a cigarette in one hand and a knife in the other as he prepared the feast. His spirited nature came through in everything he did, from dancing the tsiftetelli to passionately engaging the television screen during a Buckeyes football game. He found peace and pride in his garden, tending lovingly to his vegetables, and took great care in his bread- and donut-making, sharing his tips and tricks with his daughters. Those were the cherished moments filled with laughter and love. He also loved the excitement of the racetrack. Wherever there were people, there were stories being told, and laughter filling the room. Dad brought warmth, wit, and a big heart to every occasion.
In later years he faced serious health challenges, yet he fought on with the same steady courage that marked his whole life. His determination never dimmed, reminding all who watched him that strength of spirit can outshine frailty of body. That example remains a lasting gift.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Chrissa (David) Vocal, Pamela Panagiotopoulos , Nikki (Michael) Biratsis , and Christina Panagiotopoulos; grandchildren, Theoharis Vocal, Elias Vocal, Mateo Vocal, Caniko Saygan, Elpida Saygan, Emma Saygan, and Costandina Biratsis; siblings Kathy Voulgaris, Despina Papadioti, and Stathi Panagiotopoulos; former spouse and friend, Anna Panagiotopoulos; as well as many other relatives and friends. He now joins in rest his parents Christos and Hrysoula Panagiotopoulos; sister, Ioanna Panagiotopoulos; and granddaughter, Elpida Vocal.
Eternal be his memory. Today we remember a timely, big-hearted storyteller whose simple joys brightened countless days, and we carry forward his lively spirit with every shared meal, song, and story told.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 16 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at O. R. Woodyard Northwest Chapel 2990 Bethel Rd. Funeral service will take place Monday, November 17 at 10:00 am at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral 555 N. High St. Interment to follow Union Cemetery.
Lord, thank You for the life of Theoharis and for the love and joy he brought to all who knew them. We entrust dad's soul into Your loving hands, knowing that through Christ, he is at peace and with You. Comfort us in Your presence and give hope as we remember him. Amen.
