Theresa Leigh Adams

1968 - 2025

Theresa Leigh Adams was born Nov. 6, 1968, in Springfield, at St. John's Hospital (Mercy). She departed this life Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025, in Cox South after suffering a medical event followed by a car accident.

She was the daughter of Charla and Don Scott and Curtis and Joann Adams. She was the mother of Devin James Inglis, Alley Charlize Baker, and Samantha Jordan Riley Baker. She was the wife of Scott Baker. She was the sister of Lisa Scott Martin, Alma Adams Lindsay, Donnie Scott, and John Curtis Adams.

Theresa grew up in and around Bolivar and Urbana. She attended church at the Tunas Christian Church, Urbana First Baptist Church, and Assembly of God Churches in Bolivar, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. She was saved as a teenager.

She attended schools in Buffalo, Skyline, and Bolivar, graduating from Bolivar in 1987. She went to college in Springfield where she obtained her Associates Degree. She worked as a paralegal secretary/receptionist at SMSU (MSU), and more recently as a home health care worker.

Theresa had a strong work ethic. You knew where you stood with her. She had a wonderful memory and shared so much of that with her family. She was a beautiful young woman who loved her family deeply. She deeply grieved the death of her beloved son, Devin James Inglis in July of 2024.

Those preceding her in death were her mother Charla Scott, dad Curtis Adams, beloved son Devin Inglis, Devin's dad Dennis Inglis, father-in-law Del Howe, brothers-law- Johnathan and Brayan Baker.

Those left to mourn her loss are husband Scott, beloved daughters Alley and David, Sammie and Josiah, parents Joann Adams and Don Scott, and siblings: Lisa Scott Martin, Alma Adams Lindsay, Donnie and Rebecca Scott, and John Curtis and Shannon Adams, and grandson Dracen Inglis; nieces and nephews, Derek and Sierra Scott, Gracie and Billy Martin, Roger (Podgy), Payten Lindsay, Collen and Charla M. Scott, Sydnee, Kennedy, and Madi Adams; mother-in-law Sandy Howe; brother-in-law, Kevin Johnson and Kate; sisters-in-law, Heather Patton and Billy, and Kathy Shepherd and Jack; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

A visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, at the funeral home

Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
