Ms. Theresa F. Barefoot, 69, of Hartsville, passed away Friday morning, January 2nd, 2026, while at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Barefoot was born in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late James & Janie Davis Barefoot. Theresa previously worked in retail, but her later years were mainly spent doing what she loved, being with family. Although, she loved all her family, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly the apples of her eye. She loved watching Hallmark Christmas movies and liked spending time with her cat, Nyla. Theresa also enjoyed shopping and loved eating boiled peanuts. She was a very determined lady, who always remained strong.
Survivors include her children: Elizabeth (Carlos) Mendoza, Jason McCathern, Ronnie, Jr. (Tammy) McCathern, and Randy Davis; grandchildren, Cheyenne (fiancé, Jaylan Earle) Mendoza, Josh (Chelesa) McCathern, Brandon McCathern, Noah McCathern, Braelyn McCathern, Windom McCathern, Hailey Davis, and Skylar Davis; great-grandchildren: Charlie, Grayson, Alaiyah, Hayden, and Willow; siblings: Lori Gainey, Susan Barefoot, Bradley Barefoot, and Karen Barefoot.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Eddie Barefoot; and dear friend, Ronnie McCathern, Sr.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 o’clock on Saturday morning, January 10th, 2026, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Foster officiating. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
