Theresa Nadder Carroll, 91, of Glen Allen, VA, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 22, 1934, in Richmond, VA, to Mary Norseffe Nadder and Joseph Stephen Nadder, both from Lebanon.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, devoted husband Charles Warren Carroll; daughter Donna Carroll Clark; her brothers John Joseph Nadder, Sr., and Anthony Joseph Nadder. Theresa is survived by her children Theresa (Teri) C. Phillips (Bubba), Charles (Chip) W. Carroll, Jr., Timothy P. Carroll (Sharon), and Jennifer C. Dorton (Michael); her brother Joseph S. Nadder, Jr. (Gloria), and sister Lula N. Mardigian (Richard); son-in-law Stephan J. Clark; grandchildren Michael C. Phillips, Timothy P. Carroll, Jr. (Kristin), Lauren C. Bellam (Chase), Emily C. Johnson (Eric), Charles (Chas) W. Carroll III (Macy), Benjamin J. Clark, Alexandra M. Carroll, James M. Carroll (Laura), Madeline E. Dorton; five great grandchildren; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A 1952 graduate of St. Patrick's High School, Theresa excelled academically, was Head Cheerleader, Junior Choir, an editor of school newspaper, and Thalhimer's Teen Council.

She was a professional secretary that started her career at Richmond Polytechnic Institute. Theresa married her soulmate Charles in 1956. She began working at Southern States Corporate Offices in Richmond. Following a 12-year break to raise her family Theresa returned to Southern States. She then worked at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. After losing Charles to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis in 1981, she worked for Henrico County in Personnel, before moving to the Henrico County Manager's office, and finally to Henrico Police where she retired in 2005.

Theresa was active in the Catholic Woman's Club of Richmond holding position of President (2010-2012) and Activities Chairman, The Red Hat Society, the Bereavement Committee at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Golden Age Club, K-Cettes/Knights Council #395, former President of Old Dominion Chapter of International Association of Administrative Professionals, and an ambassador for Mended Hearts. She is remembered by many for her work with the youth at Our Lady of Lourdes.

Theresa loved to travel and spend time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a beautiful contagious smile with a heart of gold, was a friend to everyone, loved to dress up as Raggedy Ann to entertain others, and was the BEST party planner. Those who knew her loved her. Theresa dearly loved her birds, butterflies and squirrels. She devoted her life to service and was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lakeside.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bliley's Funeral Home, 3801 Augusta Avenue, on February 5, 2026, with the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. on February 6, 2026 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 8200 Woodman Road. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Richmond.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
