Theresa J. Chavez, 69, of Fentress, Texas went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2023. Theresa was born March 20, 1954 in Fentress, Texas to her parents Valentin and Lucibia Jimenez. As an adult she married Carlos Chavez and the two spent 46 years beautiful years together. They made a wonderful family, and raised their 3 children Brenda, Yvette and Carlos Jr. together. Theresa is remembered as a kind woman who was loved by everyone. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, an ear to listen, or a shoulder to cry on. She enjoyed scavenging through antique stores for treasures and visiting craft stores to build her supplies. Theresa had a strong spirit. She was a jokester, and loved to live freely. She loved to visit Las Vegas in her younger years and play the slot machines, and turned to bingo as she got older. She also enjoyed a margarita or two when the time was right. Theresa was a beaming light in our lives that will be missed dearly. She is survived by her children Brenda J. Chavez, Yvette Adams (Jeremiah), and Carlos Chavez Jr. (Clarissa), her grandbabies Cristabella Chavez and Damien Adams, siblings Janie Arizpe (Richard), Mary Espinoza, Irene Morales (Edward), Robert Jimenez (Maria), Diana Vigil (Rudy), Arthur Jimenez (Margarita), Reynaldo Jimenez, Elizabeth Cotter (Steven), Adam Jimenez (Mauro). She leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members. Theresa is preceded in death by her husband Carlos Chavez Sr., her parents Valentin and Lucibia Jimenez, and her siblings George. O. Jimenez, Lucivia Gutierrez, and Valentin Jimenez Jr.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Transcend Hospice, Elizabeth Chavez, Alejandra Mendoza, and Mary Ann Chavez for their kindness and support during such a time.
