Theresa Chortanoff, 85, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at home.
She was born May 25, 1938 and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Hren) Gustin.
Theresa is survived by her husband Karl Chortanoff Jr. who she shared 55 years of marriage with. She is additionally survived by her children; Deborah Mills, William Mills, Karl Chortanoff III (Julie) and Karin Payton (David), her grandchildren; Dustin Mills (Rene), Cory Mills, Amy Hackenberg (Eric), Jasmyne Payton, David Payton III, Michael Payton, Tristina Mills and four great-grandchildren; Chase, Dienna, Kayden and Jackson.
She is preceded in death by her sons Robert and Ronald Mills.
In her earlier years she was an avid dancer and was a member of the Kolo Club in Steelton. She was quite fond of Polka music. She enjoyed going to the casino, cooking and her puppies Benji and Abby. She loved watching football (especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Notre Dame) and music & dancing variety shows.
Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and being a grandmother. She was loved very much and will be dearly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 29, 2024 at St. Catherine Laboure Roman Church, 4000 Derry Street Harrisburg, PA 17111. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until the start of the service at the church. Inurnment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Donations and flowers can be sent in her honor to St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member.
