Theresa J. Ehlers

Theresa J. Ehlers (Terry), residing at Atria in Tinton Falls, passed away peacefully at the age of ninety-six on March 25. Theresa was born in Jersey City to William and Theresa Johnston in 1930. She graduated from Saint Aloysius High School and in 1950 married Francis J. Ehlers (Frank). Terry and Frank had four beloved children, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Terry worked as an accountant at Sears, where she had many friends and organized many trips to see plays in New York and excursions to Atlantic City. She and Frank retired to Ocean Isle, North Carolina, where she took up golf and made many lasting friendships.

Terry was pre-deceased by her husband Frank and her daughter Elaine and is survived by her son Frank (wife Terri), her daughter Mary (husband Tony), her daughter Cathie (husband Cliff), her four grandchildren (Lisa, Michael, Philip, and Kimberly), and her five great-grandchildren.

After her husband passed away, Terry returned to New Jersey to be closer to family and has spent many enjoyable days with her family and her friends at Atria.

A memorial mass will be held for Terry at 10:15 a.m. at Saint Leo the Great in Lincroft, on Tuesday, March 31. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association.
