Theresa Jewell Harvell, an amazing 102 years old, passed away, January 15, 2024, at NHC of Dickson.
Theresa was born October 28, 1921, in Humphreys County, TN, to the late Fount William and Lillie (Blankenship) Sinks.
Every Sunday Theresa enjoyed having her family over and cooking for them. She was also a fabulous quilter.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kirklen Harrell; great-grandson, Samuel Ryan Powlas; sisters, Beatrice Dugger, Mildred Craven and Eureka Gavitt; and daughter-in-law, Marie Harrell. Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Harvell (Betty) Harrell and William Harrell; daughters, Lillie (Corky) Grigsby and Rebecca (Jerry) Wade; grandchildren, Scottie Harrell, Kim Adkisson, Kelly and Jeff Harrell, Cindy Williams, Penny Powlas, Stacey Poole, Keith Grigsby, Karen Whittington, Mitzi Holcombe, and Matthew Wade; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation services with her family will be Monday, January 22, 2024 at Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and will resume on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Funeral services will be in the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Josh Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Dickson, TN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s’s Chidlren’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8180 Greensboro Drive, suite 400, McLean, VA 22102.
