Since I got the news, I've been trying to think of a way to process it, but I can't. Memories and feelings fall around me like leaves until I feel buried under them.
I remember being a little girl, standing with her in her bedroom, as she showed me the well-preserved braid that once hung down her back and talked about the school friends who called her Terry. I don't think she could have surprised me more....She once had long hair, and people called her TERRY! Shocking!
I remember half-and-half tea, Hungarian Goulash, and Jell-o cake. I remember riding bikes around Lewes, stopping at garage sales. I remember her once, for some reason, sitting on the floor at Donovan's and painting my toenails.
I remember once being at her house when my mother was at work and I was too sick to go to school. Aunt Theresa put a cool cloth on my head and sat with me.
I remember a specific day in 8th grade. I had had the kind of terrible day that only an unpopular middle school student can have. My parents didn't come to pick me up as I expected. Instead, Aunt Theresa came to get me and took me and my siblings to Holy Spirit. Afterwards, she told me that she had prayed for the wisdom to do the right thing, and gently told me my grandfather had died.
Above all else, I remember her open and generous spirit. Aunt Theresa had the ability to see anyone she met as a future friend. While she seemed to have a special gift for talking with the elderly, she could bring light to anyone willing to see it. I have always been in awe of, and slightly envious of, that ability which is so alien to me.
The world is a little darker for having lost her, but I hope that all of us who loved her can carry some of her light forward.

Sending out prayers and sympathy to the Holliday family. I got to know the family through school, scouting, and John has been one of my best friends. I know that Mr and Mrs Holliday are together in Heaven with our Lord.

To the family, I'm so sorry for the loss of a dear friend. I first met Theresa when she was dating my brother-in -law Bernie Harrity, we struck up a friendship immediately . She always had a smile, and a warm inviting spirit about her. She loved people and had a very generous heart. She will be missed greatly.

My prayers go out to the family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Theresa at Regal Heights where she was living. My mother is also there. I am so sorry that she passed away so quickly. She will be with the angels now and out of pain. God Bless her and everyone that knew her.

I'm so sorry to learn of Aunt Theresa's passing. I'll miss her laugh, hugs, and how she liked to drink her coffee with lots of milk and let it get cold! Sending all our love and prayers.
