Theresa Grimes Obituary

Theresa L. (Carty) Grimes, age 94, a longtime resident of Tewksbury, MA, passed away peacefully on January 5th, surrounded by her daughter and loving family.

Theresea was born on March 21, 1930 in Revere to the late Mary (Blaquiere) Carty and Stephen Carty.

Thersea was the loving wife of 65 years to the late John F. Grimes.

She was sister of the late Julia Gallagher, late Ernestine Nickerson, late Irene Doughtery and late John Carty.

Theresa was raised and attended schools in East Boston.

In her early years she worked at various companies, Sylvania in Woburn, MA, Carter's Greenhouses in Tewksbury, MA, Schraffts Candy in Boston, and Stuarts in Tewksbury. But her top priority always remained her family.

Theresa enjoyed spending precious time and nurturing her family and friends at her home at Ossipee Lake.

Later she resided in Fremont, Stratham, and Wolfeboro, NH.

In addition to her late husband, she was predeceased by her son Gary T. Grimes.

She is survived by five children, Jack and Joanne Grimes of Hampstead, NH, Stephen and Lisa Grimes of Merrimacport, MA, Richard Grimes of Stratham, NH, Karen and Thomas Scott of Wolfeboro, NH and Timothy and Kimberly Grimes of Dracut, MA; ten grandchildren, Ryan, Timothy, Joseph, Leah, Meaghan, Gina, Ashley and Cameron Grimes, Abigail (Scott) Rawleigh and Emma Scott: two great grandchildren, Jack and Claire Grimes.

Friends are invited to meet on Saturday, Jan. 11th, at 11:30 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Route 38, Tewksbury, MA for her Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Tunnels to Towers at www.t2t.org
