Theresa Ann LaPorte

Funeral mass for Theresa Ann LaPorte, 88, of Cache, OK will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Brannon Lepak, officiating.

A rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Mrs. LaPorte will be laid to rest at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK at a later date.

Mrs. LaPorte passed away on Sunday, November 9th, 2025.

Theresa was born on December 11, 1936 in Saint Martinville, LA to Norbert Landry and Ida (Belaire) Herman. She grew up in Louisiana and Orange, TX graduating from St. Mary's Catholic School in Orange, TX in 1956. Following high school she worked as a legal secretary for an attorney, Mr. Regan. Theresa became pen pals with Cyprien F. LaPorte while he was away on military duty. When he returned home the couple dated and later married on June 7, 1958 in Orange, TX and they were blessed with four children. Mrs. LaPorte was a wonderful mother and found great joy in raising her children. As a military family, they lived in many places including, Louisiana, Germany, Oklahoma, and Kansas, and later made their home in Lawton after Cyprien's retirement from the United States Army. Theresa enjoyed making crafts, sewing, crocheting and painting. Mrs. LaPorte was a God fearing woman and member at Holy Family Catholic Church. She was strong, selfless, kind and generous and will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her son, Cyprien J. LaPorte and wife, Rene; her three daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Avery and husband, Jeff, Monica Thompson and husband, Scott, and Yvette Maiberger; her grandchildren, Shae Cairns, Adam Avery, Britney Scheel and husband, Justin, Donald Maiberger, Brandon Avery, Nicholas LaPorte and wife, Gwen, and Kalista Thompson; her great grandchildren, Jordan Cairns, Juliet Cairns, Aurora Maiberger, Kason Maiberger, Cole Maiberger, Reagan Maiberger, Shelby Scheel, Bristol Scheel, and Lily LaPorte; and many other loving family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Cyprien F. Laporte; her siblings, Butch Herman, Gus Herman, Gaylon Herman, Mary Lou Herman, Rena Hudson, and Joe Herman; her son in law, Ronnie Maiberger; her granddaughters, Bayley Thompson and Gabriella Thompson; her great granddaughter, Kayleigh Cairns; and many other loving family members.
