Theresa Marie Napier (Terry), 80, of Perkasie, PA, passed away peacefully at her home in Bear, DE on September 5th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, closest friend (Donna) and devoted care taker (Keisha).
Terry was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated William Tenant High School in 1962.
In 1964 Terry met the love of her life, Thomas A. Napier, Jr. (Tom), at the diner where she was working to put herself through nursing school at Abington Hospital. They went on to spend 40 loving years creating memories together with each other and their 3 children.
In the mid 1980's Terry went to work at the Doylestown Country Club as their Club Manager. Several years later she and Tom decided to purchase an old plantation in the town of Princess Anne Maryland where they ran the home as a Bed and Breakfast for many years. The Hyland House Bed and Breakfast quickly became a place that their children, grandchildren, their extended families, and many friends would come to visit. While running The Hyland House, Terry and Tom developed a passion for buying and selling antiques, as well as, selling baskets that Terry hand wove and duck decoys that Tom himself carved and painted.
Terry's passion for life extended well beyond her professional endeavors. In her free time, she enjoyed spending as much time with her family as she could. Terry spent many years volunteering at motorcycle races up and down the east coast where both her husband and son raced. There they made lifelong friends and enjoyed the family atmosphere that the races brought. Racing even lead them to international travel.
Terry enjoyed so many things in life: any and all things Philly sports (especially the Eagles), needlepointing, making holiday meals, listening to Duop and other oldies, crabbing, fishing, reading, gardening, cooking, visiting with friends, growing orchids, learning Italian, animals and travel. She loved traveling to Pittsburgh to visit Tom's family, race weekends with the family, taking trips with Amanda and Brooke, joining her son camping in Virginia, and visiting the Jersey shore towns of Sea Isle and Cape May.
Above all else, she cherished her granddaughters. It didn't matter if it was to babysitting them, a school holiday or social event, or a family function, she just loved spending time with them and enjoyed watching them grow up.
Terry is predeceased by her husband Thomas A Napier, Jr, both of their parents, brothers in law George Andelfinger and Ned Timothy Napier. She will be dearly missed by her children, Melissa Napier Salamon (Mark), Thomas Napier III and Amanda Napier; her grandchildren, Brooke, Katie, Hannah and Keira; her siblings, Helen Wicks (Matt), Bernadette Andelfinger (George), and Rita; her cousin Queeny (Marilyn) and many nieces and nephews.
