Theresa V. (nee Lavin) Newcomb, 85 years of age, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Theresa was the beloved daughter of the late, Michael J. And Ann (nee Eylmer) Lavin.
Theresa is survived by her dear husband Richard M. Newcomb; Children, Jennifer A. Kane (John), Colleen T. Newcomb, Lisa McLaughlin (John), Rich M. Newcomb (Jayne), and Michelle Newcomb; Siblings, John Lavin (Penny), Daniel Lavin (Kathy), Dennis Lavin (Jeannne); Grandchildren, John, Shannon, Aida, Bridget, Colin, Brendan, Emma, Jack, Sara, and Anna. Theresa was predeceased by her siblings, Joeann Acchione (Ben), Michael Lavin, Thomas Lavin (Pat) Frances Kingkade (Frank) and her God Daughter Tish Ambrosine.
Theresa had a love for music of various genres, some including, Fats Domino, Elivis, Johnny Mathis and the Wolf Tones. Some of her favorite songs were: Town I loved So Well, and The Fields of Athenry by the Dubliners. She was very social and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Theresa was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith. She was an active member of the Legion of Mary. A faithful volunteer at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Theresa also volunteered for many years with Compeer.
You could also find Theresa spending many long days “down the shore” in North Wildwood and every September participated in Irish Weekend.
Theresa was truly valiant, authentic; kind, generous, and loving. Theresa laughed easily and loved much. All who knew her will miss her contagious laugh and beautiful smile. She will be forever cherished and missed by so many.
Relatives and friends are invited to Theresa's viewing on Monday, February 5th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA. Theresa's funeral mass will be Tuesday, February 6th at 11:00 AM St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3422 Dennison Avenue, Drexel Hill, Pa. followed by her interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA
