Theresa Reid Obituary

Theresa Mae Reid, a beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on October 25 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 71. Born on December 18, 1952, in Richmond, California, Theresa blossomed into a vibrant individual known for her positivity and bubbly personality that lit up any room she entered For an incredible 40 years, Theresa served as an announcer at the Ohio Valley Raceway. Her deep love for racing was reflected not just in her work but also in her ownership of her own race car. Theresa's passion extended beyond the track, as she was a dedicated member of the KDR Board, where she contributed her insights and enthusiasm to the sport.

Outside of her professional life, Theresa cherished her family above all. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, creating lasting memories with her grandchildren that will forever be etched in their hearts. Her proudest accomplishments were rooted deeply in her family, who were her world.

Theresa had a zest for life that saw her often enjoying the sun and waves at the beach and taking trips to sunny Florida, where she found endless joy. She also took delight in expressing her creativity through crafting, particularly in making beautiful jewelry that showcased her artistic flair.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life Maurice "Mo" Reid; parents, Jack and Doris Jean Hartman; brother, Mark Hartman; sister, Denise Elzey and nephew, Boo Skaggs.

Theresa leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Rick Nall and Jeff Nall; daughter, Melody Reid; grandsons, Josh, Zach and Dustin, great-grandson, Brayden; sisters. Jackie Foster and Jan Cheatham and brothers, Kevin Hartman, Johnny Nash and Jimmy Nash. 

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Theresa's life at the visitation scheduled for November 1, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272.

Theresa's legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know her, and her love will echo in the hearts of her family and friends forever. She was truly a sparkling spirit, cherished deeply and missed profoundly.
