Therese April

Therese April, 86, passed away at her home in Wilmington, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving husband of 64 years, Ernest April, her children, and her extended family. Born on April 10,1938, in Somersworth, New Hampshire, Therese was the daughter of Lionel and Marie Jeanne Deschenes, who predeceased her.
Therese was a loving mom to "four children in 5 years," Cheryl McHugh and her husband Michael (who predeceased her), Michelle April and her husband John Fernandez, Robert April (who predeceased her) and his wife Darla, and Ronald April and his wife Debra.
Therese's true passions were spending time with the family, travelling, dancing with the love of her life, Ernest, talking on the phone with her sisters, Jeannine Tremblay, Anita Doyon, and Laurette Gedney, and loving on many puppies throughout her life, whether she owned them or encountered them in the dog park or on the street.
Therese had a very special relationship with her grandchildren, Myranda Bosch, Adam McHugh, Courtney Lewis, Cody April, Sydney Doucette, Taryn April, Chris April, Alexis Fernandez, and Luke Fernandez. She also loved and adored her thirteen great grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 am until noon on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road (Rt.4) Lee, New Hampshire 03861. A service with Father Agapit Jean officiating will begin at noon.
Therese was well cared for by Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Wilmington, North Carolina prior to her passing.
