Therese Gill entered into the gates of Heaven in the early morning on October 22, 2025. She was born in East Wall, North Dublin, Ireland on October 30, 1941.
The youngest of 10 children, she had 6 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by Paul, her husband of 51 years, her daughter Deirdre (David) Sullivan, her sister Carmel Fogerty, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, God children, cousins, and cherished friends.
Never one to turn down adventure, Therese came to the US in the 60s. With $20 in her pocket, she had accepted a job as a nanny in Woodbridge. It was a lovely fit for her, as children naturally gravitated to her smile and inherent warmth. She built a life in CT starting with friends she met through church and the Irish Club.
She and Paul met one fateful New Haven Saint Patrick's Day Parade Day. They married in 1973.
In 1976 they welcomed their daughter Deirdre into the world. Therese was an amazing mother. She viewed motherhood as a miracle and would tell anyone that her proudest accomplishment was being Deirdre's mom.
Her family will be accepting visitation Nov 7 at Keenan's funeral parlor in West Haven 5-8 p.m. The funeral is at 11 a.m. on November 8 at Saint John Vianney's church.
