Therese Tobin Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Richardson Funeral Home - Leominster on Oct. 15, 2024.
Leominster – Therese Marie (Hebert) Tobin, died peacefully on October 12, 2024, at the age of 94 while living at Life Care Center of Leominster.
Therese was born on December 7, 1929, to William Hebert and Blanche Marie (Lemieux) Hebert in Barton, Vermont. She lived much of her life in Leominster and graduated from St Bernard's High School. She worked for the Mead Company and a suspender factory in Ayer, Massachusetts.
Therese was a polio survivor. She contracted polio as a young child and never allowed this disease to prevent her from doing whatever she wanted. Therese loved music. As a teen, she often played piano while her family sang and played other musical instruments.
Therese married Leslie Tobin on November 16, 1957, in Leominster. Together they had a good life. They enjoyed eating out with friends, traveling to Maine, and the Wachusett Organ Society which she and Leslie were among the founding members. The Wachusett Organ Society organization provided entertaining trips, activities, and wonderful music. Therese was the door-prize organizer.
Therese was a spiritual person who prayed daily for all those people she knew needed prayers. She saw the good in everyone she met. Therese enjoyed traveling to Maine to visit her Maine family to celebrate holidays – July 4th at Sebago Lake, Easter Family dinners, and Thanksgiving feasts as well as weddings and parties. She loved her little white dog, Coco. Therese would ride around town with Coco in her bike basket. She also enjoyed holding yard sales and made sure everything was clean before offering items for sale. Therese volunteered for the Red Cross and her job was to register the donors who came to donate blood. And, after years of searching, she found her dream home – a ranch on a flat piece of property in Leominster near her North Main Street home.
Therese was predeceased by her husband, Leslie, of 62 years of marriage, her parents, her brothers Roger, Henry, Raymond, and Alphonse, and her sisters Irene Rajotte, Jeanette Hebert, Pauline Hayes, and Laurette Loiselle.
She leaves behind her brother, Paul Hebert and his wife, Judy, as well as nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews.
Her family will remember Therese for her kindness toward others. Therese's family thanks the staff of Manor on the Hill, Life Care Center of Leominster, and HealthAlliance Home Health and Hospice for the love and excellent care given to her for the last chapter of her life. Go in peace, Therese.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, October 19, from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Leo's Church at 11:00 A.M., 108 Main St., Leominster. Burial will follow at St. Cecilia's Cemetery.
