Thimothy Claude "Tim" Snarey, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2025. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Tim was known for his quick wit, generous heart, athleticism, and competitive spirit that stayed with him throughout his life.
Born April 11, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, Tim lived a life full of purpose, warmth, and stories worth telling. He was married for 64 years to his devoted wife, Kathleen "Kathy" Snarey, the love of his life and his constant companion.
Tim enjoyed life as a snowbird, spending winters in Sebastian, Florida, and summers on Harsens Island, Michigan, a place that held his heart. Whether fishing on the water, golfing with friends, or perfecting his famous fried walleye in his special batter, Tim lived with a zest for life and an appreciation for the simple joys.
He was a gifted and natural salesman who represented products across many industries, forming lifelong friendships along the way. One of his fondest professional memories was helping introduce Pampers to the market in the 1960s-a milestone he remembered with pride.
Tim is survived by his children: Kimberly Williams, Christine Kelly (husband Robert), Thimothy Steven Snarey, and Sandra Cormican; his grandchildren: Drew Kelly (wife Emily), Dawn Kelly, Amadou "Abe" M'Bodj, Thimble Davidson, Josh Kelly, Dylan Cormican, Ted Kelly, and Leah Cormican; and his great-grandchildren: Dart Kelly and Cleo Kelly.
He is also survived by his brothers Dennis Snarey and Thomas Snarey (wife Patricia). He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Ilene Snarey, and his sister, Cindy Balla.
Tim will be remembered as a man who told a great story, loved his family fiercely, made the best
walleye you ever tasted, and brought a fierce drive and sense of fun to every game, challenge, and moment of his life.
He did it his way.
