Tom Ako was born on November 18, 1957 and passed peacefully on August 15, 2025. He was born in Oahu, Hawaii and grow up in Hau'ula until he was recruited by SRJC to play football. He then started his lifelong career at PG&E, dedicating over 40 years and making a lasting impact on all of his coworkers.

Tom was such a hard worker and a great provider for his family. He would give anything for his Ohana. Tom is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, his children Leilani, Luana, and Kaulana and his grandchildren Audel and Kahea. Also survived by his mother Shirley, siblings Charlene, Gwen, Chauncey and Kurtis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom loved watching sports, especially his own family. He made sure he was at every game no matter the distance. Tom also loved cooking, he was known as "The Chef". His specialties were his wontons and fried rice. He made everyone laugh and his generosity goes unmatched. Tom always made sure everyone was taken care of and would give anything for his family.
