It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas and Linda Mattingly, who left this world on February 23, 2025. Together, they were a beacon of love and companionship, deeply cherished by their family and an entire community who had the privilege of knowing them. Their remarkable journey through life exemplified a bond that many admired and sought to emulate.
Thomas, affectionately known to friends and family as Tom, was a loving father, son, and brother. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas L. Mattingly and Edith Mattingly, and his beloved sister, Barbara Mattingly, brother in law and sister Nick and Margie Licklider. He is survived by his devoted sons, Thomas A. Mattingly Jr. (Teri Blessing) and Kevin M. Mattingly (Brandi), who carry forth the legacy of love and strength passed down from their father. his dear sister-in-law, Joan Hicks, will remember him fondly, as will his five adoring grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. As well as many loving nieces.
Linda, a nurturing spirit whose warmth touched every heart she encountered, was a cherished daughter to her mother, Mary Howard. Her father, Thomas L. Hicks, and her siblings—Thomas Hicks, Virginia Phillips, and Theodore Hicks—preceded her in death, leaving behind a family that continues to hold her memory dear. Linda's influence reached beyond familial bounds; her kindness and compassion were felt by friends and acquaintances alike.
Together, Thomas and Linda shared a love that was profound and unwavering, their lives intertwined in a beautiful tapestry of shared experiences, laughter, and support. They supported each other through thick and thin, creating a loving environment that fostered growth and kindness.
As their loved ones gather to honor their memory, a visitation will be held on March 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. A memorial service will follow on the same day, commencing at 4:00 PM.
Their legacy will live on through the many lives they touched. Thomas and Linda Mattingly will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew them, a testament to the power of love and family.
