Tom leaves his life partner & best friend Denise Mayle and his ever faithful dog Clyde. Tom also leaves behind a large loving family. His mother Judith Andrews (Grand Blanc, Michigan), his twin sister Wendy (Andrew) Hung (Lauren Hung, Lian Hung, Andrew Hung of Waterford, Michigan, brother William (Holly) Andrews (William Andrews) (Grand Blanc, Michigan). Extended family sisters and brother: Kelly (Stephanie) Garrett (Waldfischbach, Germany), Tina (Peter) O'Mara (Croswell, Michigan), Tracie (Stephen) Helstowski (Nancy, Kentucky), Raymond (Connie) Garrett (Carsonville, Michigan) along with extended nieces & nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents William and Irene Payne and extended parents Raymond and Sandy Garrett.
To know Tom was to know you had a friend for life. Tom (Tommy) had many interests from his close group of NASCAR buddies in Iowa & Illinois that he spent 20 years attending races with, to his hauler family that included every kind of truck & freight on the highway. Tom was that "one" friend you could count on for life. Tom always considered his friends an extension of his family; to Tom friends were family.
Tom spent almost the entirety of his working career (27 years) as a Class A CDL Driver. He was a current employee of Oakes Farms Food & Distribution Services of Naples, Florida. Previously a CDL driver for D & S Transport, Fredonia Wisconsin and Meredith & Albrecht Trucking milk hauler, Snover Michigan. Tom could drive anything and proved it every day and was proud of his lifetime perfect clean driving record.
Tom enjoyed his time as a member of the Carsonville Fire Department before moving to Naples Florida and was especially proud of the training that he received from the department. Tom enjoyed travel of any kind, driving around in his car/truck enjoying the local sites, the wide open road in his 18 wheeler or the many countries in the Caribbean he visited on vacation. Travel was in his blood.
Tom will be truly missed by his family and his extended family, but most of all he will be missed by his "One "True Love", his Best Friend, his Life Partner who will Love Him Forever. A Friend such as Tom deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us as we celebrate and honor his life.
