Thomas Scott Ashfield

Wantage - In loving memory of Thomas Scott Ashfield, who departed from this world on Monday, November 27, 2023, surrounded by his cherished wife, Paula; his stepchildren, Lidia and Giovanni; and his brother-in-law, Vincenzo. He passed in the tranquility of his home, just as he had wished. Scott lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and resilience.
Born to Jerome Peter Ashfield and Carole on October 30, 1955 in Weehawken, New Jersey and shared his childhood with his sibling, Jackie. The Ashfield's surname ends with Scott's passing and his heavenly reunion with is parents, other members of the family, close friends and animals he so much loved that preceded him.
"Scott" as he preferred to be called, retired from Sears in 2017 as an In Home Technician and was the V.P. and Treasurer of Under My Wing Avian Refuge in Wantage, an exotic bird sanctuary founded by his wife in 2007.
Being a man of integrity, Scott loved God, people, animals and nature. He was a dedicated husband, loving father and well known in his community service. Scott found solace and joy in the company of his loved ones. His home was a haven filled with love, laughter, and shared moments that will forever be etched in the hearts of his family and friends. Scott faced life's challenges with unwavering courage, but today, he bids farewell after a valiant battle with his Cancer. His journey was one of grace and fortitude, touching the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Scott's legacy extends beyond his earthly presence, leaving behind a tapestry of memories that speak of a life well-lived. His strength, in the face of adversity and his love for his family serve as an enduring inspiration. He is survived by his devoted wife, Paula; his step-children, Giovanni Terracciano of Hamburg, New Jersey and Lidia Udrija (James Jeffers) of Morristown, New Jersey; his grandchildren, Javan and his wife Shalie, Amethyst Moore, Vincent and Adriana Terracciano; and one great-grandchild, Massai Carter. He is survived also by his only sister, Jackie Heins and her family, a multitude of extended relatives, as well as many beloved friends.
In honoring Scott's memory, let us celebrate the indomitable spirit that defined his journey and be comforted by the knowledge that he found peace surrounded by the warmth of his family. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire those who carry his memory in their hearts.
A private celebration of life for Thomas "Scott" Ashfield is being scheduled and arranged by family. In lieu of flowers, at Scott's last request he wishes for family and friends to celebrate his memory with gifts of support to assist his beloved wife, Paula with her ongoing battle with her Cancer treatment and expenses.
