Thomas Auner Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 22, 2025.
Thomas "Tom" R. Auner
Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at age 73 years. Loving father of Sara (Kraig) Maduscha. Cherished grandfather of Kennedy and Klaire Maduscha. Further survived by cousins and friends, and a special thanks to cousins Robby Turzai and Carri Gnacinski for their support towards the end of Tom's life. He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Shirley Auner.
Tom was an avid sports fan, but was especially a fanatic of baseball. He was able to cite any baseball statistic and acted as his own encyclopedia of baseball knowledge. He found great joy in all the pets he adopted as an adult and was especially fond of his dog Buster and his cats Bertha and Pita. Tom recently celebrated over 30 years of sobriety as a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He took pride in helping others in their journey to sobriety as well. His impact and insights will be missed by many.
Memorial services will be held by the family at Cudahy United Methodist Church, 5865 South Lake Drive, Cudahy, WI 53110 on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM. If desired, memorial donations in Tom's honor can be made to Cudahy United Methodist.

Tom was a friend from high school days and we shared a number of adventures that will now remain a secret. One in Madison involved a sobering distance run to my sister's house. We reconnected about 15 years ago when he stayed at our house in Tulsa. Special prayers for his daughter and grandchildren.
