November 30 - July 25, 2024
Thomas G. Barkulis was born to Frieda Conn Zangkas and George Barkulis on November 30, 1949.
Tom grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Detroit Country Day in 1968. He continued his education and in 1972, he graduated with a business degree from Albion. He loved football and played throughout his college life as a linebacker.
In 2005, Tom met Maria at St. Raphael Orthodox Church. They were united in Christ and married in 2017.
He touched all that met or walked in his path. He listened to everyone and kept all in confidence and trust. He loved horses and had a special bond with animals. Tom loved all, and in return, he has the best love of all in Christ.
Tom is survived by many step brothers and sisters.
Memory eternal.
Visitation for Tom will take place at St. Michaels Orthodox Church located at 26355 W Chicago, Redford Charter Twp, MI 48239 on Monday, July 29th from 6pm - 7pm with a 7pm Trisagion. Tuesday, July 30th, an instate for Tom will take place at 10am with a 10:30am funeral service also held at St. Michaels Orthodox Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any donations can be made out to St. Michaels Russian Orthodox Church or to Michigan Anti Cruelty Society.

Great memory of Tom was our senior year at DCDS playing Cranbrook on their field. We were getting our butts kicked. On every 4 th down we haf to kick. Tom was our punter. Could he kick the ball!! He would send that ball flying.
