My thoughts and prayers are with you. I never met Mr.Bata. But my Mom and Dad met each other while working at the Beta Shoe company. My father was Carol Eugene Monk my mom was Sandy Ratcliff. They met in the early 1970's. I know very little about them but I am thankful they both worked at the shoe factory and met. thank you. [email protected]

I just found out today that Mr. Bata was gone. I cannot express my shock and sadness. He was an amazing man and I will remember him forever. He was a man of grace and honor and I am better for having know him. He was also responsible for me meeting and marrying my wife.

On behalf of my father, Josef Valchar (a past manager trained under Mr. Bata in Zlin, and later coming to Ontario, Canada) and our family, we wish to express our sincerest sympathy to his family. His vision and determination, as told by my father, was one of a kind and will be greatly missed and never replaced.

My condolences to the Bata Family.
You don't know me but my Grandfather had a Bata Store in Yugoslavia pre W. W. II. Unfortunately, I never met my Grandfather as he died in the war. Mr. Thomas Bata truly was an extraordinary man and yes he certainly left his "footprint" on humanity.

My sincerest condolences to Sonja and to the whole family. He was a kind and wonderful man. I remember, when I asked him, why he worked so hard, if he would only take one penny of every pair of shoes manufactured by his factories for himself: would you not have enough money to live on comfortable? His reply was a lasting guidance for me. It was not the fact of just making a lot of money, but to provide job opportunities and stable incomes for many families worldwide!
Thank’s for knowing you, Thomas J. Bata - God Bless You.

My deepest sympathy. I was employed in the Marketing Division of Bata Shoe (Belcamp). I was honored to meet and talk to Mr. Bata many times during his visits. He was a very pleasant gentleman and seemed genuinely concerned about the employees. The presence of Bata Shoe Company is greatly missed in Belcamp.

Condolences to Mrs Bata and family. Am so sorry to hear of Mr Bata's passing. For many years we lived near Bata Shoe Co in Abingdon, MD. Unfortunately for us, this is now an Industrial Park with elegant homes. His shoes were the absolute BEST!!! May Mr Bata rest in peace ......
