"Tommy" as he was known by, was born July 19, 1943, to Thomas William Batterton and Ethel Bill (Stone) Batterton in Richland, Missouri where he attended school and lived most all of his life. He had a relationship with the Lord and had been a member of the Christian church in Richland. Tommy worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for over forty years and also spent many winters as a tour guide on Lake Okeechobee in Florida. When Tommy wasn't occupied with work, he loved hunting, trapping, and fishing. He was sponsored in Bassmaster's Tournaments for two years. Tommy was also great at throwing darts and playing pool. He belonged to several fishing and pool leagues down through the years. Tommy had a big personality and could make friends easily wherever he went. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas (1985) and Ethel in (1982). On the evening of Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Tommy passed away in Camdenton Windsor Estates, having attained the age of 82 years, and leaves behind two children, Sara Holohan (Russell Ash), and Thomas Batterton III (Colletta Cornett) all of Camdenton, Missouri; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several other relatives and friends. Tommy loved his family and spending time with them whenever they could gather just meant the world to him. He may be gone from our sight, but Tommy can never be forgotten. He will always be remembered by those he knew and loved. A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Richland, Missouri with Pastor Matt Brady officiating. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Tommy Batterton and may be left at Memorial Chapel of Richland, MO.
