Thomas Beausoleil Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 8, 2018.
Thomas Beausoleil, 76, passed away October 11, 2018 due to complications from a fall. He is survived by his children Renee Cordrey (Williamsburg, VA) and Eric Beausoleil (Saco, ME), his sisters Jeannine Demers (Biddeford, ME) and Gloria Adams (Deerfield Beach, FL), and many nieces and nephews, several of whom he also considers friends. He was pre-deceased by his brother Richard Beausoleil. He was very proud of his children.

He was born in Biddeford, ME on 10/6/1942 and grew up in Arundel, ME. He earned his GED and became a punch card operator while he lived in Connecticut for a few years and had his daughter. He returned to Maine, had his son, and raised his family in Saco, ME. He became a skilled machine operator, working at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, the Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station in NC, and again at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

He loved being on the road, and especially loved riding motorcycles. When he bought his dream Mercedes, he picked it up at the factory in Germany, did a road trip there, and had it shipped to the US. After retirement, he traveled the country in an RV, making friends along the way, before he settled again in Saco.

He had a spirit of service. He was a Boy Scout leader and fund raiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association earlier in his life. He joined the Masons in 1990, rising to Master Mason with Dunlap Lodge #47 in Biddeford. He was a very active member, and served as Treasurer for a time. Tom became a member of the Scottish Rite (Shriners), and belonged to the Sudan Shrine in New Bern, NC He was a trustee of the Widows Sons Masonic Riders motorcycle group, earning the road name Motion Maker due to his propensity for making motions at meetings. He made many friends in the lodge, and in other chapters of Widows Sons.

A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, November 10, from 3-5 pm at Jonsey's Café, 273 Main Street, Biddeford. All are welcome to come share memories and remember him.
