Thomas Edison Blanding
Thomas Edison Blanding, age 92, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Thomas was born the son of Daniel and Gertrude (Wittkopp) Blanding on October 22, 1931, in Ionia, Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War, stationed in Africa. On November 7, 2018, he was united in marriage to Sonia Anne Brand. She survives of the home.
Thomas worked as an IT Specialist Engineer for IBM. He was a member of St. Columban Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Sonia Blanding of the home; one son, Tim Blanding of Hollis, Maine; three daughters, Tina (Theodore) Baumeister of Sanford, North Carolina, Kellie Blanding of Gorham, Maine and Mary (Rich) Halbleib of Reedsville, Pennsylvania; three step-daughters, Michele Puckett of Key West, Florida, Emily Charley of Corte Madera, California, and Ashleigh Gingerich of Trenton, Missouri; four grandchildren, Darcie Folsom, Jessica Daurity, Margaret Baumeister and John "Nick" Patten; three great-grandchildren, Lochlan, Dash and Jett Daurity. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Kathryn Ann Blanding.
Cremation was held. No services are scheduled at this time. A private family inurnment will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida. Online condolences may be made at www.lindleyfuneralhome.com.
