Thomas Blazek was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund T. and Jeanne M. Blazek and his third wife, Rosemary. He is survived by his children by a previous marriage: Kathleen K. Blazek, M. D. of Michigan and Andrew E. Blazek of Virginia.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force, served in Vietnam, and went on to receive a commission and retired after almost 22 years with the rank od Major. He then served as the City Manager of the following Texas cities: Panhandle, Port Lavaca and Rockport. He retired from city management after 21 years as a city manager, the last 12 years in Rockport.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a master’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Rockport Country Club. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Rockport Fire Department.
