Thomas Burkett Obituary
He was born Aug. 20, 1936, in Bradford, a son of Harry W. and Wilma E. Burkett. On Jan. 23, 1960, in Olean, N.Y., he married Laura M. Coast, who preceded him in death.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Burkett was employed by Case Cutlery of Bradford before retiring.
He enjoyed camping, going to the races and spending time with his family. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and loved to watch them play.
He is survived by two daughters, Laurie L. (Ken) Lawhead of Eldred and Juanita M. Burkett of Smethport; three sons, Timothy W. (Michele) Burkett of Gifford, Edward T. Burkett of Bradford and Terry B. Burkett of Bolivar, N.Y.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Tom was preceded in death by a granddaughter, four brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service for Tom will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 9, 2025) at Hilltop Baptist Church, Gifford, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
