Thomas W. Cahill Jr., 82, passed away on October 31, 2025. He was born on April 17, 1943, and dedicated many years to his work as a forklift operator for CNA, earning the respect of his colleagues and those he served.
Thomas shared 45 years of marriage with his wife, Helen Cahill, and was the proud father of Lori (Brian) and William. He is also survived by his siblings, Susie Cahill and Linda Johnson.
Thomas was a die-hard fan of WWE wrestling and was a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. He was also a loving poppa to Trooper the dog.
One of his most meaningful acts in life was donating a kidney to his son, William, in 1982 — the first successful father-to-son kidney transplant — an extraordinary gift that reflected his generosity and deep love for family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Bell and Thomas Cahill Sr. Thomas will be remembered with appreciation and affection by those who knew him.
