Thomas Chagnon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beers & Story Funeral Home - South Hadley on Mar. 1, 2023.
Obituary of Thomas Charles Chagnon
Thomas C. Chagnon, 75, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Baystate Medical Center on Saturday, February 25, 2023. Tom is survived by his wife of 36 years, Theresa (Losty) Chagnon; his son Jeff and his wife Jodina of Palm Harbor, FL; his brothers-in-law: James Losty, Thomas Losty and his wife Mary along with many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. His siblings Kenneth Chagnon and Phyllis Dewberry predeceased him.
Tom was born on April 15, 1947 in Holyoke, Ma the son of the late Philip and Marion (Griffon) Chagnon. He was raised and educated in Chicopee, graduating from Chicopee Trade School before enlisting in the United States Navy to serve his country, something he was very proud of. After his tour of duty he returned home and began working at Scott Graphics in South Hadley. While working he attended Holyoke Community College where he earned an Associate Degree in Computer Science. He continued working for James River/Rexam Graphics for the next 25 years as a computer network administrator until his retirement. After his retirement we decided that was boring and began working part time for U-Haul as a truck driver for 7 years then as a school van driver for Van Pool. Tom's hobbies included working on many home improvement projects, training and competing with his beloved dogs, who are deeply missing him, in a variety of sports for many years. All who knew Tom will miss him dearly.
All are invited to Tom's calling hours on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 2-4:30pm at Beers and Story Funeral Home, 646 Newton Street, South Hadley, MA 01075 with a prayer service to begin at 4:30pm in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
