Thomas Earl Chapman (Tom) age 69 of McPherson, Ks, passed away October 9, 2025. At Hutchinson Regional Medical Center after years of battling many health issues.
Tom was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Harry Eugene Chapman and Delpha Pauline Karraker on December 13, 1955.
Tom is survived by his sister Paula Jean Martinez (Marcos) and two step sisters Brenda and Julie. His children Tisha Chapman, Amber Metheny, Cassie Shetterly (Clint), Matthew Koehn (Jeanette), two step daughters and nephews David Clark(Amber) and Rick Clark. His grandchildren Anika Chapman, Zaida Anderson (Calder), Akele Farmer (Harley), William Jr. Metheny (Mary), Chandler Metheny (Erin), Jericho Metheny, Tyson Sparks, Corrien Shetterly, Thomas Shetterly, Clinton Shetterly and Levi Koehn. He also had 8 great grandchildren and a new grandchild coming soon.
Tom had a brief stint in the military with the army and was medically discharged in 1973. He provided for his family primarily by hunting and fishing. He was passionate about the outdoors as his favorite pastime was hunting, fishing and camping. Allowing him to share his love with his children and nephews. He was also an avid gun and knife collector and a sharp shooter. He also enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles. Tom was a god fearing man who loved to share the word of Christ with anyone who would listen.
Tom will be welcomed into heaven by his father (Eugene), Mother (Delpha), Daughter (Amanda) and grandson (Isaiah). As well as many hunting buddies, his beloved dogs, his favorite horse Poncho (a beautiful Welsh pony he talked about often). Not to mention he will have the opportunity to rehunt the massive amount of wild game he collected throughout his lifetime!
