Thomas Chisholm Obituary
January 31, 1931 – January 18, 2026
Bill Chisholm of Bakersfield, California, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on January 18, 2026 at 94 years of age.
Bill was born in Great Falls, Montana, to Daisy and Lawrence Chisholm. He worked as a machinist and tool maker before starting a stainless steel castings company, Cast Industries, in Costa Mesa, California. He came to know Jesus at age 35 at the Bible Church of Buena Park. Bill married Sonia Nellie Romo. They had four children: Alex, Steve, Sharon, and Susan. They lived in Buena Park until they moved to Bakersfield in 2006.
Bill was known for his commitment to the Lord and service to others and to his church, especially using his design skills and cooking talents. He was grateful for his large and loving family and expressed that on many occasions.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Susan Annette, and his grandson Joshua. He is survived by Sonia Chisholm, his beloved wife of 71 years; his children Alex Chisholm, Steve Chisholm, and Sharon Thompson with their spouses; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his half-siblings Mary, Jackie, Janet, Larry, and Lisa Chisholm. His family, although happy to see him go to his home with the Lord, will miss him very much.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 2, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the Olive Drive Campus of Valley Baptist Church, 5500 Olive Drive, Bakersfield, California 93308.

I was saddened by the news of Cousin Bill's passing. I didn't know him well but from our few meetings over the last 60 years I know I liked him and respected him.
