Thomas M. Conte, Sr., 78, of Wellsboro, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. He was born on September 14, 1947, in Wellsboro, son of the late Peter and Catherine (Dickenson) Conte. He married the former Linda M. Johns on September 9, 1967, and celebrated over 58 years together.
Tom graduated from Wellsboro High School, Class of 1965, was a Navy veteran, and worked as a millwright for Corning Glass, GTE, and Osram Sylvania. Tom was of Roman Catholic faith and was a member of the Ossea Masonic Lodge, 317, Wellsboro. He enjoyed HAM radio, martial arts, hunting, fishing, telling stories, helping others, spending time with family and friends, and had an amazing sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, Linda, Tom is survived by a daughter, Annette Redman of Wellsboro; a son, Thomas M. (Suzette) Conte, Jr. of Rockwell, NC; grandchildren: Blaze Coolidge, Ashley (Ben) Slater, and Samantha (Tyler) Little; a great granddaughter, Mia Slater, and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by brother, Peter A. Conte, Jr., and a sister, Marlene M. Grand.
