I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Tom Curtin. He was a remarkable teacher who left an indelible mark on my life and the lives of many others. His kindness, humor, and encouragement were a constant source of inspiration for us all at Sheffield High School.

I fondly remember the junior year trip to England that he led, which opened our eyes to the world beyond our small town. His storytelling was captivating, and his quick wit always brought smiles to our faces. His passion for history was infectious, and he had a unique ability to make us love the subject as much as he did.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I am truly sorry for your loss and will always remember him with great fondness.

in 1965 and 1966 Tom worked, during the summers, for a program focused on disadvantaged youth. He drove a school bus from Warren to Kane where he picked up myself and other boys and continued on to Chapman Dam. He was the only adult that cared about my future. After completing my education in am alternative sequence, I bumped into Tom at a retired teacher event and when I found that he was in a nursing home, I enjoyed monthly visits with Tom and his wife Sue.
