Mrs. Cyr and family, I was very sorry to hear about Mr. Cyr. I know he thought the world of each of you! He loved telling us about his family when ever we saw him at PWH. Please know you will be in my thoughts and prayer during this difficult time!

When attending Mass with Tom, I saw that his hands were never folded over on his way to receive Holy Communion; instead, they were held straight, in reverence.
I ushered for years at Sacred Heart, and I would notice this about Tom. I realized that Tom fervently believed in the Transubstantiation (the changing of sacramental bread and wine into the body, blood, soul and divinity of our Lord). I asked myself how one would behave if we could see our Lord standing there and we were in line to meet him and to have him be one with us spiritually. It was then that I realized that if one truly believed, they would appear outwardly more like Tom as he walked toward Jesus. That moment forever changed me, and I am grateful to Tom, and also to Ruth, for their reverent examples.
Tom was very bright and also had a wonderful sense of humor that I greatly enjoyed. Imagine standing there as an usher and this parishioner walks by you on the way in, when with a serious look and without cracking a smile he gestures to hand you something. You hold out your hand beneath his and he puts a rolled-up piece of paper in your palm and keeps walking. It was his receipt from the gas pump! What a side-splitter! That was the Tommy I knew -- so approachable and such a great guy.
Tom, your soul will always be in my prayers, and I hope you will pray for us from the other side, where I know you will forever be close to our Lord.
Ruth, Kathy and I relocated to Holy Trinity years ago, which is closer to home, though we miss our friends at Sacred Heart. We are praying for you and your family.
With love,
Tom & Kathy

Ruth,
I am saddened to find the news of your husband's passing. He has touched my heart in such a special way over the past 5 years.
Find comfort in your memories and know that I am thinking of him and you at PWH.
