Thomas R. Dillman

Thomas R. Dillman, of Lansing, was born April 18, 1952 and died September 23, 2023 in Lansing, MI.
The son of Richard and Mary (Wick) Dillman, Tom spent much of his childhood in the Ann Arbor area and his adult years in the Haslett/Lansing areas. He and Ellen (Jones) Dillman were married in 1975 and became parents to sons Kevin and Peter. In 2013, Tom and Deb Dennis were married in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, a place they loved to visit.
After receiving a degree in Mathematics from Eastern Michigan University, Tom taught math for a short time. He was then a structural engineer for several years before spending the remainder of his career with Farm Bureau Insurance where he was a Computer Programmer/Data Analyst.
To describe Tom is to use words like kind, patient, helpful, caring, teacher, inquisitive, and a man with a big heart. As a child, Tom had a mischievous side and loved to play practical jokes on his family. As an adult, he used his humor and "dad jokes" to bring laughter to others. Tom's core personality was being of service to others. Whether assisting his sisters with math homework, mentoring colleagues at work, playing Santa for his granddaughters or comforting fellow residents at his memory care facility, Tom had a need to help others. He touched many lives and will be remembered for doing so.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother and father; his mother-in-law, Betty Dennis Beach; and Ruth and Larry Jones, his previous mother-in-law and father-in-law. Tom leaves behind his wife, Deb; sons Kevin Dillman and Peter (Brittany) Dillman; granddaughters, Lucy and Alice; sisters Mary (Craig) Pequinot and Linda (Dennis) Rhodes; Ellen Dillman; sister-in-law, Cindy Campbell; brother-in-law, Bruce Dennis; along with several loving nieces, nephews and friends.
The family extends gratitude to Delta Brookdale Memory Care and Careline Hospice for their loving care of Tom and support for the family. Contributions may be made in Tom's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or to Careline Hospice. No services will be held.
