Thomas F. Druley, 85, of
Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away January 30, 2025 in Naples, Florida.
He will be missed and remembered for his determination, elegance and generosity. He was a man who always rooted for the underdog and looked for the quiet person in the room.
Tom was born to Beatrice and Paul Druley on August 24, 1939, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tom lived a full and vibrant life from beginning to end and touched the lives of many people along the way.
He served in the Army before receiving his marketing degree at Indiana State University. It was there he met the love of his life Frances, fondly known as Sandi. They married in 1963 and went on to have three children, Sean, Clair, and Laurel. He was so proud of his kids and would make a point to tell them he loved them as often as possible.
Tom worked retail management until 1971 when he found an opportunity to purchase a retail beverage store in Fort Wayne. Over the next five decades he grew the business to 34 Belmont Beverage stores. He went on to become president of both American Beverage Licensees and The Wine and Spirits Guild of America. In 1991 he was named a Market Watch Leader and in 2023 he won the Market Watch community service award.
He influenced young entrepreneurs, created many jobs and left a legacy in Fort Wayne. The family business will continue under the leadership of his daughter Clair.
Tom's loving spirit is carried on by his wife Sandi; their children, Sean Druley (Leslie), Clair McKinley (Mark), Laurel Morales (Matthew); grandchildren, Arden and Liam Druley, Quinn and Macie McKinley, Scarlett and Lucia Morales. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Beatrice Druley, along with his brother Paul Druley.
A viewing will be held at Divine Mercy Funeral Home Friday, February 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. Services will be held at Saint Jude Catholic Church on Saturday, February 8 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fort Wayne Recovery, an organization Tom felt strongly about. https://fortwaynerecovery.com/scholarship/
