Thomas P. DuBois, 64, of Metamora IL, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.
He was born on November 8, 1961 in Peoria, IL, to Francis and S. Louise (Quinn) DuBois. He was preceded in death by both parents and sister-in-law Mary DuBois.
Surviving are the love of his life, Renee DuBois; three brothers, Mike (the late Mary) DuBois of Lutz, FL, Bill (Terri) DuBois of Metamora, and Warren (Cheryl) DuBois of Naperville, IL; three sisters Jeanne (Mike) Kubera of Rockford, IL, Elaine DuBois of Blufton, SC, and Amy (Mark) Miller of Cuba, IL; and seventeen nieces and nephews who all loved him very much.
Tom was a Metamora Township High School graduate. He was employed at Metamora Township High School for 39 years as a custodian and where he drove a bus for 41 years. Tom made an impact on many people he came across at the High School but especially the children that rode his bus. He drove children of children that rode his bus over the years. Tom was also a member of The Knights of Columbus and Ducks Unlimited.
Tom enjoyed fishing, attending NASCAR races with friends, and hosting NASCAR viewing parties. He hosted annual Good Friday fish fries for many years bringing family and friends together. He was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and enjoyed attending games. Tom was also a die-hard Metamora sports fan attending many different sporting events to support family and friends.
Cremation rights have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel in Germantown Hills, IL on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A private family burial of ashes will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Mary’s School, 415 West Chatham Street, Metamora, IL 61548 or to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, 8630 IL-91, Peoria, IL 61615.
