He attended Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and then joined the United States Marine Corps in 1975 which stationed him at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA. In 1983, Tom met and married Karen Joy Burr and together they welcomed three children. In recent years, he had moved to Washington State to be near his family.

Tom is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery Duncan and Sabrina Keyes of Yelm, Washington; daughters, Kimberly Duncan of Yelm, Washington, Belinda Duncan of Ridgefield, Washington; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Michael Gallagher of Fountain Hills, Arizona; grandchildren, Liberty Glenz, James Duncan and Dean Duncan; nieces, Kathryn Gritzmaker, Jennifer Anderson; and nephew Duncan Drinkwater.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Argie Lee Duncan; father, William David Duncan; sister, Mary Frances Drinkwater; brother and sister-in-law, James David and Wendy Lynn Duncan.

Those who knew Tom best will remember his storytelling, quick wit, and contagious laughter. He valued meaningful conversation, gave great advice and enjoyed helping others. Above all, he was a father, grandfather, brother and friend whose presence will be missed by those who loved him.
