Castalia
Thomas W. Dwight, 84, of Castalia, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
He was born April 25, 1941, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1959. He was a plumber and pipefitter for Local Union 42, owned and operated Castalia Hardware Plumbing and Heating for 45 years, and was a pilot. Thomas enjoyed flying his plane every weekend to his home on Middle Bass Island and enjoyed traveling cross-country with his friend Tony Zahel. He was a member of Castalia Lions Club, and EAA.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Neill) Dwight; daughter, Kimberly (Bruce) Coburn of Montana; son, Tim (Chrissy) Dwight of Castalia; four grandchildren, Courtney (Nick Grine), Lindsay (Jeff Berger), Kendra (Marcus Johnson), and Katelyn (Levi Maughan); five great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Cole, Klohe, Trinity, and Abel; sister, Paulette Biglin; and several nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Dorothy Dwight; brother, Daniel and his wife, Barb Dwight; and brother-in-law, Donald Biglin.
Private graveside services for the family will be at Castalia Cemetery. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Castalia Lions Club and Margaretta Township Rescue Squad.
