In Loving Memory of Thomas Edwards [February, 5, 1939] – [January 14, 2025]
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, Papa and friend, Tom Edwards, who left us peacefully on January 14, 2025. He was the protector of our family and a cherished presence in the lives of all who knew him.
Tom was the epitome of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness, a truly selfless person whose generous heart touched everyone around him. Guided by compassion, Tom always put others before himself, showing care in ways both big and small. His warm smile, kind eyes, and sharp wit brought joy to those lucky enough to know him, leaving a lasting impression on countless lives.
Born on February 5, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, Tom met the love of his life, Karen, with whom he built a home filled with love and happiness in Itasca, Illinois. He found solace in nature, finding wonder in birdwatching and the great outdoors. He cherished his pets and took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Tom joins his beloved wife, Karen, in eternal rest. He leaves behind his loving children: Aimee Edwards (Joe), Jason (Gosia) Edwards, and Allison (Darren) McCarthy. He was a devoted and proud Papa to his eight cherished grandchildren: Dayne, Chad, Ashley, Jenna, Owen, Harper, Tony, and Juliette. Tom was the dear son of the late Albert Edwards and Beverly Daehn, and the beloved brother of the late Shirley Boyd, the late Dan (Charlene) Edwards, and Esther Edwards. He was a treasured brother-in-law to James Mindak (Carolyn) and Susan (Ken) Ellinger, as well as a loving uncle to Kim (Kurk) Paleka, Ed Rinda, Kate Mindak, Kenny (Julie) Ellinger, and Vince (Nicole) Alonzo. Tom will be deeply missed by his family, countless friends, and everyone fortunate to cross his path.
