Obituary
With profound sorrow, the family announces the passing of Thomas M. Farace of New Braunfels, Texas, who left this world after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family on October 27, 2025, at the time of his passing. Tom was a respected businessman and entrepreneur, deeply active in his community. He was instrumental in launching numerous restaurants in Austin and San Antonio and founded Farace Beverages, LLC in 2010, establishing a lasting legacy in the hospitality industry.
Early Life and Education
Tom Farace was born on June 24, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York, to Thomas and Patricia Farace. He attended Seaford High School in Seaford, New York, and continued his education with college studies in upstate New York. These formative experiences sparked a lifelong career in Hospitality Management, leading him to hold several positions of responsibility in Vero Beach, Florida.
Family and Career
During his time in Vero Beach, Tom met and married Carolyn A. Wagner of Roswell, New Mexico. Their wedding took place at St. Helen Catholic Church in November 1989. Together, they built a family, welcoming son Michael in 1991 and Richard in 1997. Tom's motivation, humility, and hardworking nature propelled him to relocate his family to Central Texas in 1992, where he became a managing partner and founder of several high-end restaurants across the country. Building on these successes, Farace Beverages flourished as a family venture under Tom's leadership and vision.
Personal Qualities and Passions
Tom was dedicated to his family, integrity, and service to God. He focused on building a meaningful life, devoted to his wife, sons, grandchildren, and to offering wisdom and guidance to those around him. Sports played an important part in his life-he enjoyed hockey as a child and developed a passionate love for pickleball, playing daily. Tom also supported community and school events, using his hospitality expertise to benefit those in need.
Survivors and Remembrance
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Carolyn; his sons, Michael (Jennifer) and Richard; his grandchildren, Layla, Matthew, Chase, Michael Thomas, and Kinsley; his brother, Donald Farace of Chicago, IL; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, friends, and acquaintances. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Susan Farace, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Arvilla Wagner.
Legacy
Tom's life is defined by his relationship with God, his devotion to his wife and children, and his cherished role as "P" to his grandchildren. He was committed to spreading wisdom and happiness, living each day to the fullest. As Tom believed, "You are what you do, not what you say you'll do." Private services will be held according to the family's wishes. Tom will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the medical staff who cared for Tom, and to all who offered prayers and well wishes during his final days.
