Elder Thomas "Tommie" Freeman

Elder Thomas E. "Tommie" Freeman, age 74, of Spencer, passed away at 5:00 A.M. on Friday, November 20, 2015, at his residence. He was born in rural Spencer on May 12, 1941, the son of Charles J. & Verna (Thacker) Freeman. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1959. He worked at RCA in Bloomington for eight years. Tommie then began the insulation trade and worked for almost 30 years. He was ordained in 1978 as a Primitive Baptist Minister and served as a minister of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church where he was a member for nearly fifty years. Tommie enjoyed his family, playing golf, fishing, and collecting and playing his guitars. He is survived by his wife whom he married March 23, 1962, Linda (Summerlot) Freeman, a daughter, Dana Collier of Spencer, twin sons, Keith (Tina) Freeman of Bloomington and Kevin (Susan) Freeman of Spencer, two sisters, Marcella Dyer of Linton and Beverly Roberts of Williams, a brother, Robert (Flo) Freeman of Indianapolis, and a sister-in-law, Grace Freeman of Kokomo, four grandsons, Greg and Garrett Collier, and Jake and Adam Freeman. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Richard Lowell Freeman, William Lee Freeman, and Jackie Ray Freeman, and his nephew, William Lee Freeman, Jr. Funeral service will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, with his son, Elder Kevin Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Gross Cemetery in Spencer with Elders Gary Brinson and Steve Stilwell officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 P.M., and on Tuesday from 9 A.M. until the time of service.
