Thomas Lester Fumagalli, 85, of Chambersburg PA, peacefully entered Heaven on January 25th from the Mercy House in Chambersburg.
Tom was born July 17, 1938, to Anna Mae and Ernest Fumagalli in Houston, TX. He had two older brothers, Johnny and Winfred.
After graduating from Sam Houston High School, Tom joined the United States Army where he became an electronics technician and served in Korea. While stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, he met the love of his life, Carlene Bradford. Tom and Carlene married on July 1, 1960, 63 years ago. They were blessed with two boys, Keith (Tess), and Kevin (Julie). Tom separated from the Army after four years and joined Raytheon where he worked for 35 years before retiring in 2000. Tom, Carlene and the boys moved to many different places around the world while he worked for Raytheon.
The family eventually settled down in Chambersburg in 1977 and have lived in the same home since. Tom enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, golfing and taking care of his yard. He also loved to travel to see friends, family and historic sites around the world. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren: Brandon, Dustin, Danielle and Ryan and his great grandchildren: Hayden, Sophie, Taylor and Daxton. Regularly taking them to breakfast for one-on-one Grandpa time.
Tom was also known for his generosity by loaning vehicles, buying groceries for those in need and donating to his favorite charities. But his greatest passion was his church and his dedication to Jesus Christ and spreading His word. Tom and Carlene are members of Christian Life Church where Tom was a greeter and served on the board. On most Sundays he could be found greeting as many people as he could entering the Church with his jovial spirit and his always bright Hawaiian shirts.
Memorial donations can be made to Christian Life Church, Young Life, or Mercy House of Chambersburg.
Services will be Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sellers Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Pickens officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
