Thomas Anthony Garrity

Thomas A Garrity passed away on February 19, 2024, just three days shy of his seventy-third birthday. He was born and raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark and lived in the Ironbound section until moving to Berkeley Township in 2011.
Tom graduated from Essex Catholic High School and St. John's University. He was on the track and field team in high school and college, primarily running the high hurdles.
After graduating college with a degree in economics, Tom began his career in banking at Howard Savings. He made a career switch into Information Technology as a software developer, working at Merrill Lynch and Seagram's before moving into the IT consulting field.
Tom will be remembered for his optimistic outlook, quick wit and keen sense of humor. He was an avid sports fan, a good cook and a great friend.
He is predeceased by his father John and his mother Teresa (Peragallo). Tom is survived by his sister Donna and brother-in-law Robin of Lewes, DE.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23,2024 from 2:00-5:00 PM at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd, Toms River, NJ.
