Thomas Gregory Gent

Thomas "Tom" Gregory Gent was born in St. Charles. Missouri on August 29, 1962, to Thomas Gent and Joanna Gent (nee' Shank). He passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Washington, Missouri at the age of 63.
Tom grew up in St. Charles, Missouri where he graduated from Francis Howell High School. Following his graduation, he worked as a millwork specialist for both Home Depot and, more recently, Lowes. Later in life, Tom obtained his Bachelor's degree at Lindenwood University. Although Tom enjoyed his work, his true passion was nature and wildlife photography. Tom loved the springtime at Shaw Nature Reserve because it was peak migration time and there were lots of animals out and about for him to photograph. His particularly favorite animal to photograph were birds. Tom recently became a member of the Master Naturalists at MDC, having completed a yearlong program through them so he could volunteer his time and share his love of nature and the conservation of our environment. In 2016, Tom married the love of his life, Ann Isaacs, in New Haven, Missouri. Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Gent, and his mother, Joanna Gent.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Gent; three children, Dominic Hendrix, Amber Hendrix, Effie Gent; three grandchildren, Scarlett, Hayden, Laina; two brothers, Chris Gent, Allen Gent; and many other cherished family members and friends.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
